The Kut War Cemetery, 160 kms south of Baghdad, is the resting place of British and Indian soldiers who died in battle against the Turks during their fight towards Baghdad during the First World War.

Since the first gulf war  in 1991, The Kut War Cemetery has fallen into disrepair with most locals using the sight as a football field or a dump site.
